Heading North
As we have been travelling and staying at many parks and campgrounds along the way, we have come to realize that we love state parks. They always seem to be well run, clean and with very private and spacious sites. Our next stop was at Stephen Foster Folk Cultural Centre State Park in White Springs, Florida. It was one of the most beautiful, well kept parks that we have stayed at on our journey. The park had a museum dedicated to Stephen Foster, and a little pioneer village (which wasn’t open while we were there), a nice playground and biking trails and it was right on the river. We had a fire and roasted marshmallows one night while we were here as well, which we haven’t done in a really long time.

We headed west, after our stop in White Springs, and stayed at Falling Waters State Park in Chipley, Florida. This campground seemed a little sad after our last stop, but it had some great walking trails, a little beach area and it is home to Florida’s largest waterfall. The trails took you to a platform right beside the waterfall which was really beautiful. Eric and I have been trying to get up every morning to go for a walk before work, so we walked down to the waterfall and back every morning that we were there.

We also drove to the nearby Florida Caverns State Park while we were here and took a tour of the caverns. It was amazing! We all loved the cave tour and getting to see all the beautiful formations in the caverns.
